Mandatory Interviews Introduced for Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship Applicants

Antigua & Barbuda's CIP

In a recent government memo dated November 13, 2023, the Citizenship by Investment Unit of Antigua and Barbuda has unveiled a ground-breaking development set to redefine the citizenship application process. We at Concordia Consultancies are thrilled to share this significant announcement with our valued clients.

As of December 15, 2023, all citizenship applicants will be required to undergo mandatory interviews, as detailed in the notice signed by Ms. Charmaine Donovan, CEO of the government citizenship unit. This progressive step aims to enhance the evaluation process, ensuring a more personalized and thorough assessment for every applicant.

Here’s a quick rundown of the key points outlined in the memo:

1. Mandatory Interviews: Starting from December 15, 2023, all citizenship applications must include a mandatory interview for both main applicants and dependents aged 16 or older.

2. Administrative Fee: A new administrative fee of USD 1,500 has been introduced to cover the costs associated with the mandatory interview process.

3. Presence and Documentation: All members included in the application must be present during the virtual interview. National identification documents submitted with the application file are also required for verification.

4. Virtual Interviews: The interviews will be conducted virtually by independent service providers designated by the Citizenship unit. This approach aligns with the current virtual Oath of Allegiance calls conducted alongside licensed agents.

5. Language Considerations: While interviews will primarily be conducted in English, alternative arrangements can be made if necessary. The ultimate goal is to ensure a comprehensive interview experience, even if the applicant is not proficient in English.

It is imperative for applicants to attend the interview on the specified date to avoid delays in the processing of their citizenship by investment application.

At Concordia Consultancies, we embrace these changes as part of our commitment to providing our clients with the most streamlined and transparent pathway to citizenship. We are here to guide you through every step of the process, ensuring your journey to Antigua and Barbuda citizenship is smooth and successful.
